Wild Turkey 3on3 Tournament
Wild Turkey 2009:
A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our inaugural Wild Turkey Thanksgiving 3on3 tournament. We had amazing weather and an awesome turnout as 16 area teams showed up to compete and enjoy an exciting tournament with a unique format. Teams from as far as Macon, MO showed up and were guaranteed 7 games during the day and a nice Thanksgiving feast to accompany a riveting final game featuring the Drury Panthers and a pickup team of local players from the Branson/Springfield area, who called themselves the Turkey Basters. The Turkey Basters had a come from behind win earlier in the day vs. the Panthers and were looking to give it another shot and put them away once again. The Basters came out strong and in a hard fought match, took the Panthers to 15 points and won the game. There was a huge sideline to enjoy the game but the crowd was quiet as turkey, stuffing, and gravy were being enjoyed by the audience. Overall, it was a success as the tournament brought together many teams from different areas of the state and also different levels of play. Three high school teams made attendance and showed a promising future for Ultimate in the state of Missouri. Look for the UPOz to host another Wild Turkey tournament in 2010!
